Join us Sunday, November 3rd, as we "Party with a Purpose" to benefit Holiday Meals on Wheels and Aging Services! Support at-risk older adults in our communities by attending the brunch or making a donation to Holiday Meals on Wheels and Aging Services.

This years event, with Master of Ceremonies Andy Avalos of NBC 5 Chicago, will feature delectable bites and savory sweets prepared by local chefs and great wine and beer selections provided by Mainstreet Wines & Spirits, Two Brothers Brewing Company and Windmill Ginger Brew. Come dressed to impress in your Derby best! This is one event your taste buds won’t soon forget!

Each year, Celebrity Chefs Brunch to benefit Holiday Meals on Wheels raises money to supplement home delivered meal delivery for weekends and holidays and other aging services provided by our Agency partners. Our Meals on Wheels program works hard to fight hunger and malnutrition in the senior population we serve and we want you to be part of it!

Take Action Against Malnutrition
September is not only Hunger Action Month, but September 23-27 is Malnutrition Awareness week.

Did you know?
  • 1 out of 2 older adults are at risk for malnutrition or is already malnourished
  • 16% of independent older adults are at high risk for malnutrition
  • 9 million older adults cannot afford nutritious food

Malnutrition affects more individuals than just people with a low income or unable to feed themselves. It can also affect people who have the means to buy groceries, prepare meals and have a great support system!

Contact your Members of Congress and Help Us Push for the Re-authorization the Older Americans Act!
The Older Americans Act (OAA) Expires on September 30 th , 2019. The OAA enables older adults to age in the home and in the community where they want to be thus avoiding more expensive medical or institutional care. The Act provides vita supports to Caregivers to bolster their ability to continue to care for their loved one. It helps to identify and prevent abuse and neglect of older Americans and encourages the investment into cost effective programs that allow people to stay healthy and independent while living in the community.

Please contact your members of congress (for contact information, click here and scroll to the bottom of the page) and ask them to vote for the Re-authorization of The Older Americans Act, NOW. 24th Annual Senior Lifestyle Expo
This year we welcomed thousands of older adults and their caregivers to the  24th Annual Senior Lifestyle Expo ! It was two days of learning, fun and continuing our mission to bring older adults together with the products and services that are invaluable to maintaining their quality of life.

A special thank you to all those who attended this years Expo! We look forward to seeing you next year!
