Tomorrow, Friday March 26, we will sing the 2nd Stanza of the Akathist Hymn to the Theotokos at our Salutations service. The full Hymn has 4 stanzas and each one has a theme. The 1st Stanza, which was sung last week, was about the Annunciation. Today, Thursday March 25 we are celebrating the Annunciation! After reading the each stanza, what are the other themes?
O Champion General. I, your city, now inscribed to you triumphant anthems as the tokens of my gratitude, being rescued from the terrors, O Theotokos. In as much as you have power unassailable, from of all kinds of perils screaming so that unto you. I may cry aloud: Rejoice, O unwedded Bride.
