It's been an exciting past few days in the world of parent peer support. We are thrilled to share with you that we will be expanding our parent peer support workinto the juvenile justice system thanks to the generous support of UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealthcare Empowering Health. We look forward to sharing the journey with you and invite any parents whose children are involved in the youth court system to join us in planning how this grant can be most helpful to families.
We are currently in the middle of training parents to do parent peer support in the mental health system as well as planning the expansion of this training in November. We appreciate the support and feedback of the Department of Mental Health, current parent peer support specialists and children's coordinators at community mental health centers as we plan this expansion. We will be asking for more feedback and suggestions along the way. We are also eager to hear from any parents who want to be trained to do parent peer support in the mental health system.
We know many children are starting or have started back to school and times can still seem pretty uncertain. We are happy to support you with school issues that arise or just be a listening ear in your corner. You can call us at 601-355-0915 or email us at email@example.com.
For those of you following changes in policy with the Mississippi Youth Programs Around the Clock, this Friday is the last day to submit comments.
