Writing these intros each week is always such a sweet reminder of all of you and all the things there are to share together. As the number of COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths rise, it is also a sobering reminder of how important it is to stay safe.This articlethat we posted a couple of months ago has helpful tips if your teen is struggling with social distancing and other precautions, and don't forget the Mississippi State Department of Health COVID resource page. In July, we are focusing on support for parents of young children as well as what would be helpful to all families in planning for school. We are also celebrating Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout July we will be using our virtual family support group to learn what families believe would be most helpful as school re-openings are planned. Please join us to share your thoughts. Watch our Facebook page, newsletters and our website for additional opportunities to give your feedback. For families of young children and those that support them, on July 9 at 12 noon, well be doing a webinar titled "Supporting the Social/Emotional Health of Young Children" in partnership with the Mississippi Parent Training and Information Center (MSPTI). We also will have Leadership Training for families of young children on July 21, 23, 28 and 30. We hope you will join us at one or both of these online events.
