Welcome to another edition of the "Alumni Pulse"- a newsletter with a more in-depth perspective and comprehensive communication for alumni of Lincoln University.
It has been an exhilarating few weeks within the world of Lincoln University. Congratulations to Atlanta Alumni Chapter President, Jerrold Brantley ('77), and members on a successful 5th Annual Golf Tournament & Scholarship Fundraising Weekend. Proceeds will support scholarship initiatives for worthy LU students from the Atlanta area. Southern hospitality, delicious food and a true "mini-Homecoming" atmosphere was in full effect at every event. Thursday evening's Meet & Greet was attended by more than 40 participants, while Friday's golf tournament had tremendous participation and produced the first ever tie-breaker to determine the winning team. After the tournament, Dr. Sherman Bonds ('80) showed off his culinary expertise with delicious selections that all enjoyed. Later, participants were treated to the gracious hospitality at the home of Willie ('70) and Bobbie Burkes. The All White Affair was very well-attended, the music was just right and there were ample refreshments for all. Sunday morning church service witnessed more than 25 alumni in attendance with Rev. Dr. Michael and First Lady Patricia Neal ('85) Stinson at Bethel United Methodist Church. Look for photos and additional details posted to the Alumni webpage in the near future.
Lastly, we are gearing up for another exhilarating homecoming. Entitled, "Re-ignite the Spirit, Unleash the ROAR!" this year's homecoming is set to celebrate the merriment of Lincolnites past and present all while energizing the Blue Tiger community as we move forward into our sesquicentennial. Congratulations to Angel S. Forde ('08) on being our winner for an all-access pass to our Homecoming Events.
