Hello CTAs,

Happy Holidays & thank you for your continued involvement and support of this fantastic program.

After a year of transition, I am eager to start 2020 with a solid foundation and new opportunities for our Sonoma County CTA Program. More than ever this is an opportunity for you, our ambassadors, to learn as much as you can about our destination, and convey it to our visitors, creating an even more authentic experience each time they choose to gather in Sonoma County.

We have new classes scheduled, a variety of FAM (familiarization) trips planned, as well as new programs that I have outlined below, to engage each of you with education and experiences from our partners, as well as networking events amongst yourselves.

My goal is to achieve growth in our program not only in numbers, but also the quality of knowledge that we are gaining and sharing with each other, our guests, and our tourism partners.

I am proud to call Sonoma County my home, and I am proud to have all of you by my side to help boost this program and make each visitor experience a rewarding one.

Cheers to 2020!

All my best,
Tracy Koch

PROGRAMS NEW & REFRESHED FOR 2020

As we enter 2020, the CTA program will be introducing new programs (in addition to some old favorites) designed to provide you with additional opportunities to learn about Sonoma County. These experiences will not only enlighten you, but will provide valuable points towards your certification renewal.

Lunch & Learn Program - This new monthly series will be a chance to bring your brown bag lunch to our SCT boardroom and experience an hour of knowledge from industry partners (one to two partners each session). The first quarter will be filled with information from our executive team about the Sonoma County tourism/hospitality industry and will summarize our messaging and immediate vision/goals for the destination.

**Please note: CTAs are limited to four Lunch & Learns per calendar year and only one attendance during this first quarter, as content will mirror in the first three months.

PIP Attendance - The Partner Information Program (PIP) series has been ongoing at SCT for several years. Approximately six partners are invited per month to deliver a five-minute presentation to tourism staff and now you are invited to join in on the fun too ! Registration will be on a first come, first serve basis, for a limited number of openings.

**Please note: CTAs are restricted to two PIPs per calendar year. We cannot always provide the full slate of partners for each PIP in advance, and the participants are subject to change.

FAM Trips - Back by popular demand, we will have a series of familiarization (FAM) trips. These Sonoma County excursions will offer knowledge on food, wine, farms, trails, and more. Each trip will accommodate approximately 30-40 CTA's (and a couple FAMs might allow for more).

**Please note: in response to your feedback, we will be continuing the lottery base system for the attendance of FAMs. Additionally, CTAs will be limited to 1-2 FAMs per year depending on availability.

Networking Mixers - Social mixers will be offered once a month. A chance to visit a winery/brewery while networking with other CTA's.

Registration links to be sent in the new year.

THERE IS STILL TIME!
Start your new year resolutions off by finishing this quick 5-10 minute renewal process!

Remember: You need 50 points to renew. If you volunteered, visited some of our Sonoma County destinations (state parks, museums, wineries & more); read any CTA letters or affiliated documents...chances are you have at least 50 points!

Please visit the CTA Network here: https://www.ctanetwork.com/ to log your points and complete the renewal process.

Forgotten your login credentials? No problem! Just reply to this email with your first and last name and I’d be happy to look it up for you.

Our Community Engagement Specialist, Devin McConnell, has also recorded a quick video providing step-by-step instruction on how to navigate through the renewal system.

LAST RENEWAL DATE IS 12/31/2019 - DON'T MISS OUT ON THE YEAR AHEAD!
CTA 2019 Annual Holiday Luncheon

Thank you again to Union Hotel in Occidental for a fantastic lunch and holiday cheer! And thank you to all of you who made it out in the weather for our annual tradition! It was a pleasure to meet so many of you! Congratulations to our five year CTA pin recipients as well as our 2018 and 2019 CTA's of the Year: Jennifer Buffo, Pure Luxury Transportation and Lorene Romero, Windsor Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center (respectively).
A New Year's resolution that will make you feel good about starting the year off on the right foot and something you can share with family, friends, and visitors with whom you come in contact!

Sign and Share the Pledge to Travel Kindly in Sonoma County

As part of Sonoma County Tourism’s commitment to sustainability and destination stewardship, we are encouraging all CTAs to pledge your support to ‘Traveling Kindly’ across Sonoma County, and choosing to make a positive impact to the health and well-being of our thriving local communities, abundant experiences, and breath-taking natural landscapes.
Please consider signing the pledge, and invite others to do the same.

As a thank you, any CTA that signs the pledge can count it as five points towards their certification renewal.
