Architects of the American School Symposium Draws a Crowd

The College of Architecture's  Architects of the American School Symposium, held on Wednesday, Aug 23, in the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, was filled to capacity for all three lectures by award-winning architects  Brian Phillips (ISA), Eddie Jones (Jones Studio Inc.) and Donald MacDonald (MacDonald Architects)! In attendance were Herb Greene and his family and friends, as well as many distinguished College of Architecture alumni; friends of the American School; local architecture enthusiasts; and OU faculty, staff and students.

This special event was made possible with support from The American School Project sponsors, Ross Group Charitable Foundation, Hornbeek Blatt Architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, wdesign, and REES Associates as well as the Bruce Goff Chair of Creative Architecture fund.

American School Project Receives Anonymous Collection of Original Works and Prints by Bruce Goff, Herb Greene and Others

An anonymous collector recently shared a precious collection of detailed renderings and blueprints from the American School era with the College of Architecture. The large collection came bundled in several tubes, with dozens of beautiful, original and copied drawings--some on rolls more than 20 feet long! Among the collection are stunning copies of the original Bavinger House design by Bruce Goff and the Prairie House design by Herb Greene. We can't wait to feature a portion of this collection in the 2020 American School exhibition at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art!
