Dear Friend,
When I'm asked how YWCA Bergen County serves the community with such a wide range of programming, the heart of the answer is YOU.
Whether you are a a donor who believes in equal opportunity for all people, a community partner committed to collaboration and service, or a corporate sponsor who wants the most meaningful involvement in essential programs…YOU are the key to improving the lives of the thousands of women, girls, and families we serve.
Did you know there is a double impact when taking part in our programs? You may be a member maintaining your health and wellness through our classes, a professional woman improving your skills at our women’s empowerment events, or a family entrusting us with your child’s care in our camp or extended day programs, but by choosing our services, you are also helping fund our sexual violence center, girls leadership academy, and employment support for long-term unemployed women.
YWCA Bergen County had another strong start to the year. Read all about how we have been engaging our community in 2018, and know how grateful we are to YOU—our donors, partners, sponsors, members & program participants—for making it all possible.

Our March 29th Women’s Leadership Conference was a powerful day of networking, workshops, and panel discussions that helped our participants not only clarify and strengthen their aspirations, but get actionable insights from corporate thought leaders, including business mentor Sarah Walton, Alycia Banks of Columbia Bank, Laura Blackmer of Konica Minolta, Ann Piccirillo of KPMG, and Tiffani Scott of BD.
We are so grateful to our corporate sponsors for making this important event possible and standing up for women's leadership.

On March 12, 2017, we lost a wonderful community member and supporter.
Marion Dallery Kortjohn
lived 60 of her 101 years in Ridgewood, and was a YWCA Bergen County board member for many years. Mrs. Kortjohn was a Mensa member, graduate of Hunter College and Columbia University, and Student Activities Director for Kean University. She served as president of the St. Margaret's Guild at Christ Church, Ridgewood. Mrs. Kortjohn was also a member of the Woman's Club of Ridgewood, the College Club of Ridgewood, and the Saddle River Garden Club. The generous legacy gift from Mrs. Kortjohn’s estate will fund girls’ empowerment programs as well as child care and camp scholarships for families in need.
