Even though the Community Center and Old Stone School are currently closed, and programs and events are cancelled or postponed indefinitely, your Concord Township Recreation Department is still working hard to provide value to our residents.
We’ve been busy cancelling and rescheduling classes, rentals, programs and events and have tried to reach out to each individual affected to discuss options.
Thanks for your patience and flexibility as we make these adjustments.

We continue to coordinate the Summer edition of the
Concord Grapevine newsletter.
Part of this process includes developing our (tentative)
Summer class schedule
that we hope residents find enjoyable when allowed to move forward. All classes will be listed on our website when class dates and times can be confirmed. We are also busy selling advertising to offset printing costs.
We continue to plan
Summer events
, knowing they are tentative at best, but we want to have a summer event schedule in place for residents to enjoy when we are able to publicly gather again.
- Our (tentative) Summer Concert Series is scheduled to kick-off on June 18 with the BlackJack Gypsies, and runs thru July 23, packed with bands you know and love. Look for the full line-up of bands in the Grapevine and online at www.concordtwp.com soon.
- Concord Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, with the Fire Department’s Safety Day scheduled for Sunday, August 16. If allowed to move forward as planned, Community Day will include live music, activities for kids, the Chinese Raffle, great food, beer & wine, games of yesteryear and of course the fireworks display. Safety Day will include lots of family-friendly activities and safety resources to explore.
- We are also researching alternative ways to bring entertainment to our residents if the current restrictions remain in place over the summer. Look for more information and updates at concordtwp.com or on Facebook at Concord Township, Lake County Ohio.
- The Recreation Department also manages the Concord Township Community Garden, located behind the Old Stone School. Plots are already being assigned to this year's crop of hopeful gardeners.

The Recreation Department is busy coordinating the writing and publication of an
Images of America Book on Concord Township
, in honor of our Bicentennial year in 2022. It is no small task to collect and organize pictures and information for the book, but with our Old Stone School Docent, Dan Maxson, we are right on schedule and will continue to move forward with work on each chapter remotely.
The annual
Photo Contest
is one of our responsibilities, too. Voting has just ended and the Trophy and ribbons will be awarded this week!
Your Recreation Department manages the
rentals at the Concord Community Center
. Although the center is currently closed, we can still assist residents with rental contracts for future dates. For more information, email
Recreation@concordtwp.com
.
And a big, heartfelt THANKS to everyone who is reading or responding to our
daily Facebook posts
! We love hearing from you!

- Is this really an emergency?
- Do I really need an ambulance?
- Are there other transportation options available to me?
- Can my injury be addressed at an urgent care or Primary Care Provider?
Rest assured, if you determine you need an emergency transport, Concord Township Fire Department is here for you!

On March 22
nd
, Governor DeWine and ODH Director Dr. Amy Acton issued an official Stay at Home/Shelter in Place order for Ohioans, effective 11:59 pm March 23 through 11:59 pm April 6, 2020.
The Zoning Department staff will still be working and available to assist residents and contractors with getting zoning permits and answering questions for their projects.
During the mandated stay at home order, we will not be allowing residents and contractors access to the zoning department office in person. Therefore, all permits will need to be mailed to Town Hall or placed in the drop box near the back door.
Please call or email our staff to discuss your permit application prior to submitting so we can make sure we have all the required information. This will assist staff with getting your permit processed more swiftly. Staff’s contact information may be found
here
. Thanks and stay safe and healthy!
