"When the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide our planets, and love will steer the star."
~The 5th Dimensions 1969
Ask anyone who knows me, and they'll say I'm a relentless optimist, maybe even an idealist. Yet, I see myself as a blend of both an idealist and a realist, always aiming for a higher good. I choose this mindset with intention—preferred over the alternative.
So, what does this have to do with astrology? Honestly, not much—except to express my unwavering optimism about our future, where LOVE takes the reins, and PEACE governs our world.
I'll share my proof with you in a minute, but first, a little astrological education.
Measuring Astrological Ages is tricky, and you might receive different answers depending on who you ask. Yet many say we're entering the Age of Aquarius, which started around 2020, and we'll be here for the next 40+ years.
Similar to a 12-month astrology calendar, there are twelve astrological ages corresponding to the twelve zodiac signs, yet on a much broader scale. A complete cycle occurs when Earth's rotation shifts into a new zodiac sign around the vernal equinox, when the Earth's axis neither tilts toward nor away from the sun, making day and night equal in length. Since each cycle lasts for such a long time, the transition from one Age to the next isn't clearly defined. This concept of Earth's movement through these cycles isn't unique to Western astrology; it's also reflected in the Mayan calendar.
The traits of Aquarius, the sun sign, are everywhere these days: proof that we're currently in the Age of Aquarius.
You can no longer withdraw to your yoga mat and let someone else run the show. Around the world, you can see that people are hungry to shake things up and get rid of the dusty habits that not only put a heavy weight on our lives but our planet in general. People are waking up. They want to feel more embodied. They want to get out of their heads and into their hearts. And if you're reading this, you are likely a LEADER in this movement in your own right…even if you don't have an interest in astrology.
Why is this important?
I'm not an astrologist, but if you are lucky enough to know one, they would be hard-pressed to predict our future with so many variables at play, not excluding our political climate and environmental issues. Instead, they would inspire you to view life through a new lens, embracing everyone's unique qualities and abilities for the greater good of humanity.
Who is most affected?
Further evidence that we are entering the Age of Aquarius is the significant rise in the number of highly sensitive individuals born over the past dozen years, both in the US and globally. These individuals are often referred to as empaths.
Empaths, or highly sensitive people (HSP), are individuals who are particularly attuned to the emotions and energies of others. They often feel things deeply and have a strong sense of intuition.
The rise in the number of empaths could be viewed as evidence of a broader awakening or a shift towards greater emotional and spiritual awareness. This aligns with the themes of the Age of Aquarius, which is often characterized by ideals of unity, humanitarianism, and a deeper connection with the self and others.
These are our leaders of tomorrow—guardians of change and peace, guiding humanity toward a brighter future.
These beautiful beings require our time, attention, and loving patience from birth to adulthood to nurture their gift. However, they are often labeled as difficult, overly sensitive, or too passive.
Society tends to value brute strength, thick skin, and ego-centric drive as markers of success rather than recognizing the unique strengths of those with finely tuned sensitivities. Over the last 50 years, this manipulative way of thinking has cultivated the "Me Movement" while embracing profit over people—think corporate conglomerates, big pharma, and the healthcare industry.
Okay, I realize I've taken this topic in several directions, so let me distill it down.
Kindness is a powerful strength in this hardened world. Be patient and compassionate with yourself, others, and especially our young people. They need our support now more than ever.
The Aquarian Age ushers in a shift in perspective. The focus moves from "me" to "we" as we begin to deeply understand that we are all connected and that nothing happens in isolation.
In closing, let me know if you want to learn more about HSP. It's a fascinating topic near and dear to my heart, as I am the proud mother of one of these beautiful beings—she is my Sage.
