Statewide Family Networks Saved, DSP Wages to Increase
|
The Oregon Legislature closed its legislative session with positive outcomes for the disability community. First, funding for the statewide Family Networks was reinstated with the approval of the DHS budget bill (SB 5529).

CARES Center to Host COVID Vaccine Clinic Saturday, Springfield Public Library Later This Month
|
The Arc Lane County, in collaboration with Lane County Public Health, will host a free COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Clinic at the CARES Center on Saturday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No appointment is needed and people are welcome to pick up a food box while at the event.
In addition, representatives from the Springfield Public Library will be at the CARES Center on Saturday, July 24,10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to share resources available at the library, and sign people for a free library card. There will also be Latinx musicians during the event.

New JumpStart Preschool Now Enrolling, Program to Start Aug. 9
The Arc Lane County is now enrolling children ages three to five years in its JumpStart Preschool. The new preschool, opening August 9, will provide opportunities for children of all abilities and backgrounds to learn and grow and play.

The Arc to Provide Individualized Tech Coaching with Grant from Comcast
|
Adults interested in learning how to fully utilize technology for personal growth and enrichment may receive 1:1 technology coaching from The Arc Lane County, thanks to a grant from Comast.
The Arc Lane County will provide one-on-one technology coaching to help adults with disabilities understand how technology can be used for employment, expanding social network, personal health and growth. For more information about this new program, contact Devin.

The Arc Receives Large Donation from Hayden Homes for Arc Park
|
Hayden Homes, the largest privately-owned homebuilder in the Pacific Northwest, has donated $10K to the Arc Park. The park's water play area will be named in honor of the company. Read the Press Release to learn more about the donation.

Families Connected Hosts Weekly Activities for Families During Summer Months
|
Families Connected, the family network serving Lane County families, is excited to once again host fun summer events for families. Parents and children are invited to Fun at Fairmount Park every Tuesday for water play, arts and crafts, and conversation.
After playing in the park, parents are invited to attend Hot Topic Wednesday to talk about concerns, share tips and celebrate parenting successes in a supportive environment. Hot Topic Wednesday will be held every other week, with the next event being held July 28.
