The Arc Welcomes New Office Manager

The Arc would like to welcome Linda Pocsik, the newest member of our team. Linda is our new Office Manager.

Linda has an extensive background in organizational operations, office management and project management for non-profit organizations. She strongly believes in The Arc’s mission and is honored to be working for an organization that empowers people with I/DD.

Linda enjoys spending time with her family, camping and crocheting. On the weekends you can find her paddle boarding and enjoying the Colorado sunshine.

We couldn’t be more excited to have her on board! Welcome to the team, Linda!
Open Doors to Independence with Travel Training

Travel Training is the perfect place to address your concerns about trying, or maybe retrying, public transportation. Via & RTD Travel Trainers understand the reality of public transportation for people with I/DD, and they have been helping people learn about it for years. They also offer free individual travel training, during which travel trainers work one-on-one with a trainee for as long as it takes to insure safe, independent travel. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, family members and caregivers are welcome to attend this intro Travel Training.

We're Bags for Change Recipients!

Do you shop at the Lucky’s Market on Wadsworth?

From now through November 9th, we’re one of Lucky's Market Bags for Change partners, which means you can support The Arc while you shop!

How does it work?
Bring your reusable grocery bags with you to shop and Lucky's Market will give you a wooden dime for each. You’ll see the Bags for Change display before you leave the store—simply drop your dimes into the slot with our name. Then, in November, Lucky’s Market will add up what the community has donated, and make a donation to us for double the amount.

Don’t forget to stop by Lucky’s Market soon…and remember to bring in your bags!

The Future of Disability Needs YOUR Input!

Help The Arc understand what the future should look like for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be meaningfully included in their communities. Take the 2019 Intellectual and Developmental Disability Survey today!

Through this survey, we want to hear your perspective about how we can all create a world where people with intellectual and development disabilities receive the support, services and care they need and the respect they deserve. Your responses to the survey, combined with perspectives from the field and additional conversations with staff and Board, will help inform the future of The Arc.

The survey is available in both English and Spanish.

The survey should take no more than 30 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous. The survey deadline is September 12, 2019. If you have any problems responding to this survey, please e-mail Shakir Cannon-Moye at [email protected].

Thank you for helping strengthen The Arc’s collective efforts and the future of disability rights!
