Kick off DD Awareness Month with us on Friday, March 1!

In last week’s Arc in Motion (eUpdate), we mentioned a “virtual” event on March 1st from 12:30 – 1:00 PM to kick off Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. “Virtual” means you can attend from the comfort of your home, your office, or even your car! This event, and the theme for this month, are all about the TRUTH about people with I/DD. Our goal is to counteract hurtful stereotypes that prevent people with I/DD from being respected, valued, and fully included in our community.

Who should “join” us on Friday:
• Self-advocates who wants to share their Truths
• Family members/caregivers who wants to support self-advocates
• People in our community who just want to know the Truth about people with I/DD
• ANYONE and EVERYONE who would like to get involved with DD Awareness Month!

What we’ll talk about:
• The TRUTH about people with I/DD--they are capable, talented, and have lots to give!
• Three self-advocates will share their Truths
• All the exciting things happening during March
• You can share your Truths too!!

How to join us Friday at 12:30. Please choose only one option for the best results:

1. Live Facebook video:
