The Arc of Somerset County Announces Leadership Transition
Lauren Frary, M.A.
Christopher J. Corvino
The Arc of Somerset County is happy to announce the appointment of Christopher Corvino as the new Executive Director, effective 7/1/2022. Chris will succeed Lauren Frary, who has served The Arc for 32 years, and has held the position of Executive Director for the past 15 years.

“It has been an honor to serve as the Executive Director of this outstanding organization. With the support of the Board and our leadership team, we have made significant progress in driving positive change for the individuals we serve in our communities." said Ms. Frary, “This experience has been both professionally and personally rewarding for me.”

Moving forward, Lauren Frary will continue her work in the nonprofit sector as an organizational and leadership consultant.

Michael Stefani, President of the Board of Directors stated: “We are sorry to see Lauren leave us, but we are also excited about welcoming Chris to his new position. Chris will play a key role in the future of The Arc and our services for children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

Chris Corvino is a career-long service provider to persons with disabilities in various settings and has been the Associate Executive Director at The Arc for over 10 years. Chris has been the driving force behind The Arc’s programs successes and has effectively navigated the agency through the ongoing pandemic and other significant challenges. Chris will be taking the Executive Director role as The Arc of Somerset County celebrates its 50th anniversary of outstanding services and the release of a new strategic plan.

Chris noted: “The entire Arc family will feel the departure of Lauren Frary. Her work on behalf of our consumers, families, staff and Boards has been a constant presence. As we approach the 50th anniversary of The Arc of Somerset County and the many successes of its consumers I am grateful and humbled to continue the conversation in service and advocacy that Lauren has lead for the past many years. The example she has set will remain our benchmark long into the future.

“The Arc of Somerset County will always have a special place in my heart,” noted Ms. Frary, “I leave knowing that Chris’ leadership skills will continue to uphold our Mission and Vision for those we serve and the community at large.”
