“Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it... Yet.”  – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables (1908)
Welcome to The Arena Newsletter
Every other Thursday, we share inspiring ideas, tips, and articles that will keep YOU in the Arena. This week, we're exploring perspective as part of 365 days in the Arena (# 365DaysintheArena, #JanuaryintheArena, #IntheArena) .
In the Arena
In the Arena, we're playing a game to actually BE in the Arena every day. The challenge of keeping commitments every single day can be daunting, but new perspectives make a huge difference: How might you change up your perspectives?

Tip: If you're already in the Arena, you can change perspectives by changing the sort type and by moving between the Calendar and Play views.

Inspirational Reading
“Decisive: How to Make Better Choices in Life and Work” by Chip Heath and Dan Heath (2013). You will enjoy all of the narratives and tips in this approach, but the WRAP process is particularly useful: W iden your options. R eality-test your assumptions. A ttain distance before deciding. P repare to be wrong. The last one is particularly inspiring: You know you'll be wrong on some things so how might you prepare now? For more, read the book and visit the Heath Brothers .

“The Three Laws of Performance: Rewriting the Future of Your Organization and Your Life” by Steve Zaffron and Dave Logan (2011). While we’re on the topic of perspectives, this book is a whole new perspective on perspectives! The laws themselves make more sense in the context of the book, but here's the preview: (1) How people perform correlates to how situations occur to them; (2) How a situation occurs arises in language; (3) Future-based language transforms how situations occur to people. For more, visit the Three Laws of Performance .
