Every other Thursday, we share inspiring ideas, tips, and articles that will keep YOU in the Arena. This week, we're exploring ALL OF THE TIPS as part of 365 days in the Arena (#365DaysintheArena, #IntheArena).
Time-boxing: No problem! Switched to the calendar view in Arena and lined up projects between appointments. This seemed to work best on days when the gaps between events are at least a half-hour long.
Prioritizing: We did this with the scores and color-coding and mostly set the prioritization order to "Points." When there are a lot of deadlines, setting the prioritization order to "Urgency" seemed to work best.
Say no: Intellectually, it makes sense that you could be more productive if you were managing and doing less. Practically, this part of the experiment is ongoing!
Move: Made this a task within a daily repeating project and moved it to complete every day. Check.
Control your devices: Interpreted this as keeping your desk clear of tempting devices. Check.
Take short breaks: Tried this as taking a break every time a project was checked off for the day. Like saying no, this part of the experiment is ongoing!
To-do lists: Of course!
Eat well: Made "Plan menu and grocery list" a weekly repeating project. So far, checked it off every week.
2-minute rule: Yes, definitely. The fastest way to do something is just to get it done. Maybe that's circular logic?!
Control social media: In addition to deleting social media apps, found this "stopping rule" helpful for breaking the "Ludic Loop" in social media.
