DIFI Gets $4 Million Back for Arizona Consumers
The Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) assisted Arizona consumers in obtaining over $4 million in reimbursements and restitution in the past year on matters involving insurance claim settlements, home warranty payments, surprise medical bill disputes, and premium refunds. The most common complaints the Department received included claim delay, claim denial, unsatisfactory settlement offers, and agent handling. Read more

Extension of Major Medical Transitional Policies
The Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) announced that insurers in the individual and small group major medical health insurance markets can choose to renew "transitional policies" for a policy year beginning after October 1, 2022, and thereafter until CMS modifies its non-enforcement policy. Transitional policies are policies that individuals had in place before the Affordable Care Act went into full effect on January 1, 2014. Read the entire DIFI Press Release

Nominate Deserving Candidates for Industry Recognition
IIABAZ's annual awards are one way to recognize and promote the valuable role that independent agents and affiliates fulfill on the local and state level as small business owners, employees, consumer advocates, industry professionals, civic leaders and community volunteers. The Association’s five awards are the: Insurance Agents Arizona Hall of Fame, Paul H. Jones Career Achievement Award, Charles W. Traubel Memorial Award, Archie Mendelsohn Memorial Award, and the Steve Welker Associate of the Year Award. Members submit all nominations for consideration and winners are selected by Members serving on the Awards Committee.
The 2022 honorees will be recognized on Wednesday, August 24th at our 88th Annual Convention Installation & Awards Banquet at the Talking Stick Resort & Casino in Scottsdale.
