ISO's 2022 Homeowners' Changes; Some Big, Some Small, But All Important
Eleven years have passed since ISO promulgated major changes to the Homeowners' program. There have been several reactive changes during this period, but in 2022, ISO introduced a multistate/nationwide filing that results in several major changes to the HO program.
In 2022, ISO:
- Introduces a NEW (yes, new) Homeowners' form – the HO 00 14;
- Introduces 13 new endorsements;
- Makes revisions to 120 forms and endorsements; and
- Withdraws 11 forms and endorsements.
Many of the changes in this new filing are the direct result of the work done by the Big 'I' Technical Affairs Committee (TAC).
Virtual University highlights and details what you can expect from this long-awaited filing. Don't be caught unprepared when your carriers adopt this form. You WILL want to know what has changed and what options are now available for your insureds.
2 Hour Webinar approved for 2 CE Credits in Arizona. Registration is discounted to $79 for IIABAZ Members. Multiple webinar dates: January-June.

Insurance Agency Standard of Care - Duty to Advise
Do you have a duty to advise? Absolutely! All states expect that insurance producers will conform to a standard of care applicable to a reasonable producer in that state. But what standard of care applies in your state and what does that standard mean? You'll learn about all this and more during this 50-minute free webinar brought to you by Big 'I' Professional Liability and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Webinar provides a fresh look at agents' legal duties as they vary from state to state.
Panelists are Myles Hassett, founder partner of Hassett Glasser P.C. from Phoenix; Donna Asta, claims expert at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions; and Richard Lund, U.S. agents risk management coordinator at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

DOL Releases Guidance on Health Insurance Compensation Disclosure Requirements
Section 202 of the December 2020 omnibus government funding legislation signed into law by former President Donald Trump included new compensation disclosure requirements for health insurance agents and brokers. The requirements took effect on December 27, 2021.
After the requirements took effect, the Department of Labor (DOL) released Field Assistance Bulletin No. 2021-03, which announces the DOL's temporary enforcement policy for group health plan service provider disclosures under ERISA section 408(b)(2)(B).
The Big I has created a free compliance tool designed to help agents satisfy these health compensation disclosure mandates. The compliance tool includes a FAQ, a guide that assists agents with the design of their own notices, and an example of a notice that might be used in a particular hypothetical situation.
