Dear Friends,

On Friday, October 9, our Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace community said goodbye to a remarkable woman, Sr. Monica Heeran, CSJP, whose life was dedicated to serving others through compassion, courage, and extraordinary leadership.

From her early years in nursing to her leadership at PeaceHealth, Sr. Monica made an incredible difference in the lives of countless people. But beyond her many accomplishments, she also left us something very special: an example of what it means to lead with kindness, conviction, and a genuine concern for others.

Here at the Peace & Spirituality Center, we have been working for some time on a special page celebrating Sr. Monica's life, along with a collection of reflection cards inspired by her wisdom and experiences, as part of our growing Gifts from Our Sisters collection.

We began this project while she was still with us, never imagining that we would be sharing it under these circumstances. But with her recent passing, we can think of no better opportunity to honor her life and help ensure that the gifts she shared so generously continue to reach others.

Through this special page, we invite you to discover Sr. Monica's story, learn about her remarkable contributions, and reflect on the lessons her life continues to offer us.

Each month, we will share a new reflection card inspired by her words, or lessons drawn from her experiences. Each card includes a short reflection and a simple practice, offering an opportunity to bring a little of her wisdom into our own everyday lives.

At the Peace & Spirituality Center, we believe that the wisdom and experiences of our sisters are gifts worth preserving and sharing. Through our Gifts from Our Sisters collection, we hope to do our small part to ensure that their stories continue to inspire new generations.

We may not all have had the privilege of knowing Sr. Monica, but we can all learn something from the way she lived.
