Huzzah!

We are overwhelmed with gratitude and inspired by your generosity in giving to exceed our match goal for our Better Places placemaking goal. Our campaign closed July 31 at midnight. Exactly 100 patrons gave $17,000 enabling CATV to create a new media arts community center for the Upper Valley at

JAM – Junction Arts & Media.

We hope you'll pop in check out JAM-in-progress at 5. S, Main Street, 1st floor, White River Junction, VT (former Newberru Marklet, between Tuckerbox and Piecemeal Pies) in the coming months.  We'll be launching media arts exhibits, workshops and events early fall. Next week we'll be off to re-charge our batteries, look for the next newsletter with fall previews August 17.  This week we dedicate this newsletter to the power of the media arts to transform and connect us.

Thank you.

The truth of her heart

White River Junction's Allison Fay Brown says "she sings the truth of her heart." Here she is performing original folk songs with her trio at Norwich's Bandstand, recorded by community producer Chad Finer on Sunday, July 17.

Art for the People

Ever notice those five big colored panels on the Hopkin Center's Lebanon Street wall or pyramids lurching from the grass toward Baker Library?  Hood Museum curator John Stomberg tells how Dartmouth's outdoor art fits with their surroundings and enlivens public spaces.

Green Mountain Roots

Blazin' vibes played loud for the people. Take a listen to Green Mountain Roots, four rockers CATV found at the Tuesday Jukebox in Wilder. If you like Neil Young's Crazy Horse, these guys are what you need on a hot summer day.

The thing with feathers

"Hope," Emily Dickinson famously said "...is the thing with feathers." CATV went to AVA Gallery to catch up with local 11 poets, including NH's former poet laureate, and visual artists celebrating National Mental Health Awareness Month in a special event presented by West Central Behavioral Health. Their theme was hope, something we all need these days...

Finding openness and space

Katie Cawley kindly shares her yoga practices with the Upper Valley on CATV, offering Full Body Core Flow, and Grounding Flow with Breath.

Creating the community we seek

INTERSECTIONS Podcast Episode 11 takes us into the experiences of community of a person who has deep, long term ties to the Upper Valley, having moved here as a teen, and now transitioning towards retirement in the near future. Our guest shares his strong sense of self founded in family, in church and in theater, and invites us to make the effort to reach out to take our own responsibility to actively build community as the only way to develop true inclusion.

Community producers Julius & Michelle created INTERSECTIONS podcast to provide a platform for sharing. our experience of community in the Upper Valley.
