VOICE OF THE GAVEL

Dear Brother & Sister Artisans,

It is a great pleasure to be your Most Excellent Master Artisan. The Most Excellent Assembly Session turned out wonderfully and I really enjoyed the weekend at the Radisson and being able to meet a lot of Artisans and having the time to talk to you. We have had some great trips so far in 2024, the 8-day Carnival cruise to Aruba this past March was a wonderful cruise. The Hummelstown Railroad trip, that included lunch at the Macaroni Grill and a visit to the AACA Car Museum, bus trip in May was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the Pride of Susquehanna which we were originally scheduled to sail on had to be cancelled due to boat repairs, but it actually worked out for the better as the weather wasn’t that nice and the Car Museum was a huge hit. The car museum is a very interesting place to visit and everyone seemed to really enjoy the trip.

The Ocean City weekend was another huge success. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed the St. John’s pool party with pizza, soft pretzels, water ice and soft drinks available for our members. There were ride wristbands for the Castaway Cove Amusement Pier and mini golf tickets available to ensure that Artisans of all ages had a fun weekend. All the Artisans in attendance had a great time walking on the boardwalk and searching for their lucky numbers while participating in the annual treasure hunt. There were a lot of great prizes won by our members such as, t-shirts, sweatshirts, beach blankets, saltwater taffies, pizza and soda, Kohr’s ice cream, Johnson’s popcorn to name a few. Many other nice gifts were also supplied by the various merchants that participated in this annual event. A great big thank you to all of the store owners who participated in the treasure hunt. Congratulations to all of the treasure hunt winners. There is a lot of work done by a small group of our membership in order to put this weekend together, we owe a big thank you to the office staff and all the volunteers who helped make this event a great success.

We are very excited about our move to our new location in Penndel Pennsylvania in the Fall of 2024. I’m sure you will all be pleased with our new location, there is plenty of parking and it is handicap accessible.

I have planned a nine-night Royal Caribbean cruise to Canada/New England Sept. 4th-13th, 2025 as my MEMA trip for that year. I will be planning more events and trips for 2025 once we move into our new location. In the meantime, our next event is a bus trip to the Shady Maple restaurant and the Jukebox Jive show at the Magic & Wonder Theater in September. This trip was sold out in just days after advertising it. We are taking names for a waiting list in case we receive any cancellations. On November 13th, we have a bus trip to the Sight ‘n’ Sound to see “Daniel” and a Smorgasbord lunch after the show. If you have never been to the “Sight ‘n’ Sound show it’s a must see event. It’s a beautiful theater and all of our seats are on the main level so they are easily accessible. You can call the Artisan's office for tickets.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at all of our upcoming events. I hope all of you have a wonderful summer. Stay safe and healthy.

Fraternally,

Helen Szafran

Most Excellent Master Artisan

M.E. SUPERINTENDENT LETTER

   Dear Brother & Sister Artisans,

I am honored to be the M.E. Superintendent for 2024 & 2025. It was wonderful seeing everyone at this past Most Excellent Assembly Session. The M.E. Session is always a great weekend of fraternal fun. What a fantastic Cruise to Aruba we had this past March and I am looking forward to our many future trips planned over the next two years. Our day trips are just as fun and I hope more of your come out to join us on these fun events. Our Easter Egg Hunt was a big success and all of the children stuffed their baskets with candy filled eggs.

All I can say about our annual Ocean City weekend is wow!! What a wonderful time we all had down the shore, the weather was perfect. The Pool party was so much fun, there was so much good food and so many giggles and laughs around the pool. It is Wonderful to see everyone come out to the Annual Ocean City outing. All the big and little kids had a wonderful time on the Amusement rides and playing mini golf. This annual event down the shore has always been one of my favorite things to attend. The next two Junior events will be the Halloween Party and Lunch with Santa. I, and our Most Excellent Inspector Scott Simmons, are planning some new Junior events and we hope to see you at both our Junior events as well as our many other Artisans events throughout the year. Keep up to date on our many upcoming activities and trips by visiting our Facebook page! Enjoy your Summer.

                                               Fraternally yours,
