Fiesta Medals Are Here!

THE MEANING BEHIND THE MEDAL:

Vision Guide Dogs’ 2026 Fiesta medal tells the story of a guide dog in the making.

At its heart is Luke—a current VGD guide dog-in-training, wearing a blue service dog vest and taking his first steps toward a life of purpose. One day, Luke will become more than a companion—he will be a guide dog, offering independence, confidence, and connection to someone who is blind or visually impaired.

Each detail on the medal carries meaning. A green door honors St. Luke’s Green Door Thrift Shop, whose generosity helped name Luke and continues to support his training. Festive papel picado celebrates the vibrant spirit of Fiesta San Antonio, while a blue paw charm represents the many puppies who grow, learn, and transform into life-changing partners.

But Luke’s story is not his alone. It is made possible by a community of volunteers, supporters, and advocates who open their hearts and homes to help change lives. 🦮💛
