We are seeking nominations for the 2016 Edmund C. Wingerd, Jr. Award. Please consider nominating one of the many outstanding attorneys in the Franklin County Bar Association. The FCBA YLD's Heart Walk team is being led by Tony Cosentino. Since 2008, we have raised over $12,000 to support the American Heart Association.

Job Opening

We are looking for a part-time legal assistant (3 days a week) with potential for full-time. Must possess a paralegal degree or certificate. Minimum of at least 2 years experience. Must have strong people skills, be proficient in Word, good organizational skills and the ability to work independently. To Kill a Mocking Bird 

 
The Carlisle Theatre and the Dickinson School of Law are hosting the event. On August 19 at 7:00 PM we are showing the film To Kill A Mockingbird. The film will be followed by a panel discussion led by Professor Michael Mogill. One panelist will be Jon Birbeck, who is currently the Chief Deputy District Attorney for Cumberland County, but who has been tapped by Governor Wolf to take over the Cumberland County Magisterial District Court.  
 
DSL is incorporating the film into their 1L orientation week, but the event is open to the public with the purchase of a ticket. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the Carlisle Theatre at 717-258-0666 and will be available at the door.
 
In addition, Rhone Brew Company, a new Carlisle micro-brewery, will be offering free beer tasting in the Theatre's lobby during the hour before the film.

Convenient CLE Credits

Did You Know?
 
Each month your Franklin County Bar Association hosts 8 to 10 CLE classes. This is a great opportunity to gain CLE credits close to home. Our CLE credits are just a short distance away and cost efficient. In addition to offering the CLE credits; we serve a delicious array of breakfast and/or lunch items for your convenience and enjoyment. In 2015 between PBI and Lunch & Learns there were a total of 550 CLE credits completed here at the Franklin County Bar Association. Furthermore, last year there were a total of 153 CLE participants. So far in 2016 there are 359 CLE credits completed with 80 CLE participants.

*   Nathaniel and Maureen Spang became parents of Liam Frederick Spang on June 23, 2016. He weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and measured 20 inches. Liam joins sister Alice Mae, age 27 months. Grandparents are David F. Spang and Martha B. Walker. Congratulations!
