Dear BASIS Chandler Community,
Thanksgiving break is here! It really felt like we crawled to this one, but we now have a nice, long break. My hope for all Bobcats is that this break is one of gratitude, one of rest, one of time with family, and one of health. Please take some time this weekend to breathe, enjoy the people around you, and rest.
Thank you for each person who is part of BASIS Chandler. I am grateful for the role that each person plays.
Students, thank you for your hard work.
Faculty, thank you for giving your students your all.
Parents, thank you for your support of all that happens during the school year.
Have a wonderful break, and I will see you back on campus on Tuesday, November 29. Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Prospective Tennis Parents and Students,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that BASIS Chandler will not be participating in the CAA for tennis this school year. The league has just announced drastic adjustments to the format of tennis this year. With the season expected to begin December 1st, this puts a strain on the school to begin planning. Many of these changes put extra responsibilities on the schools that would require significantly more lead-time than we now have. Additionally, the new format would mean far fewer players than we have allowed in the past, so there would be a large price increase for each student to be able to participate.
We know that this is difficult news for our families, as BASIS Chandler Tennis has a reputation of greatness and is one of our most in-demand sports on campus. All school administration is working together to come up with some sort of school-wide tennis tournament that we will host in the Spring so that our students can still compete, but in a more fun and cost-friendly manner.
We thank you in advance for your understanding.
Karen Bryson (Head of Operations) and Dave Ribbens (Athletic Director)

5th and 6th Grade Band and Strings Concerts | |
Our 5th and 6th grade band and strings students will be presenting their first concerts of the year on Saturday, Dec. 3rd. The bands will perform at 11am with the doors opening at 10:40. They will have a rehearsal from 9am – 10:30 and then present the concert. This information has been sent home and is also on parent square. The strings classes will perform at 2pm with doors opening at 1:40. They will have a rehearsal from noon-1:30 and then present the concert.
This is always a busy but super fun day for our younger students and you will be very amazed at the progress they have made so far this year. There is no charge for the concert but we always take donations at the concert for classroom supplies.
We look forward to performing for you!

Our chess season has come to an end with great success. I am pleased to inform you that we are the State Runners-up (basically coming in second) this year.
During the weekend of Nov 5th 2022 , the BASIS Chandler chess team played in the 2022 AIA State Team Championship, the event was hosted by Brophy Prep Academy and qualified teams came from all over Arizona. Similar to the years past, the strongest teams are always from our region and for the last eight years we have always qualified for the final and this time was no different.
The team, composed of Sandeep S. (captain), Aaroh M., Purvit P., Avinash G., and Kanishk A. in Varsity, and Alvin Z., Reva A., and Aaroosh K. in the Junior Varsity. The performance was a team effort, with all players outperform"ing expectations. Sandeep, Avinash, and Kanishk won best board prizes, and Vedansh Gupta took home 1st place in the JV championship. We were very close to beating the Champions ACP (2-3) but very happy with the results. We have a very young team in terms of experience and they all performed better than their best. I am so proud of each and everyone of them. Shout out to Rushil A., Ananya J., and Alvin Z. for being a part of the team throughout the season even though they couldn't make it to the State Finals. A special thanks to Mr. Russel for his help with the team.
Attached are a few pictures from the event. I would also take this opportunity to thank you for all your support over the years.
Go Bobcats!!
