The Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (BCCC) was proud to serve as an institutional supporter of the Canadian stage of the InfraLeaders 2026 – International Infrastructure Leaders Program, held in Toronto from May 19 to 22, 2026. The program brought together senior public and private sector leaders for an immersive learning experience focused on infrastructure governance, public-private partnerships (PPPs), project financing, regulatory frameworks, operational performance, sustainability, and capital attraction strategies. Through technical sessions, case studies, site visits, and engagement with leading Canadian institutions and industry experts, participants gained valuable insights into the Canadian infrastructure ecosystem and its relevance to infrastructure development worldwide.

New artificial intelligence hub in Fortaleza brings together supercomputing, robotics, and industrial automation to accelerate solutions for energy, industry and ICT sectors.


Fortaleza, May 18, 2026.  Instituto Atlântico officially launched on Thursday (May 14) Alia, Atlântico’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, a new research, development, and innovation hub focused on developing and validating advanced AI solutions for key industries in Ceará, Northeastern Brazil, and across the country. Backed by approximately R$ 15 million in investments, Alia brings together one of the country’s most robust technological infrastructures for AI applications in industry, energy, and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

Supplier development in Parauapebas strengthens the supply chain and generates local income

"Rio Tinto has appointed Trudi Charles to succeed Isabelle Deschamps as Chief Legal Officer, Governance & Corporate Affairs.


Trudi is currently Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President Legal, Supply, Trading & Shipping at BP plc. She will join Rio Tinto from 1 August 2026.


Trudi has spent over 20 years at BP in various senior legal roles across its downstream and supply, trading & shipping businesses. Before this, Trudi spent almost eight years with Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer in London and Hong Kong. She is admitted to the Law Society of England & Wales, the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Queensland Law Society. "
