Supporting the Oneinforty Community During COVID-19

At Oneinforty, our mission to educate and support those living with hereditary cancers their loved ones, and the healthcare professionals who serve them, has never been more important.

We recently launched a monthly webinar series “Living with Hereditary Cancer During COVID-19”—featuring medical experts in oncology and genetics, mental health professionals, health care providers, and Oneinforty Storytellers. Speakers provided life-saving information about genetic testing, hereditary cancers, the Jewish-Hereditary cancer connection, and provided advice and support for those facing cancer and their loved ones during these challenging times.

"Although individuals who are of Ashkenazi Jewish descent are 10 times more likely to have a mutation (1 in 40), BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations are found in all races and ethnicities. Several studies have shown that even in populations at the highest risk of having BRCA1/2 mutations (for instance, ovarian cancer patients) many individuals do not undergo testing."
