Fast Facts:
Last month our World Hunger Day campaign raised $80,339 that will go directly toward feeding children this summer at five of our chapter locations. As a result, this summer, there will be less hunger in Chicago, Jacksonville, Florida, Louisville, Kentucky, Orlando, Florida, and Southwest Florida.
Thanks to YOU & the help of Spartan Kids Foundation, Blessings in a Backpack is working with community partners across the country to distribute weekend food even when children are not in the classroom!
Hunger doesn't take the summer off, and neither does Blessings in a Backpack!

Great Minds Think Alike Recap:
Over 20 backpack organizations joined in Monday's conference, sponsored by our good friends at Cigna. Participants spent hours discussing best practices and struggles during the pandemic and how to continue feeding kids while navigating the new normal.
We couldn't think of a better way to kick off the summer than listening and learning from one another to benefit children all across the country!

As kids across the country hang up their backpacks for the summer, there is one thing we can all agree on: the 2020-2021 school year was one we will never forget. The year that computer screens replaced chalkboards, kitchen tables replaced desks, and parents, grandparents, and caregivers added the role of teacher to their resume.
While so many things looked different, one thing remained the same. Because of your generous support, Blessings in a Backpack continued to provide hunger-free weekends for children nationwide — that's 2.2 million hunger-free weekends, to be exact! So sit back, grab a glass of summertime ice tea and check out the impact (report) we made together this year!
