Happy Summer!
As most of you are aware, on June 1st, our counties placed a fertilizer ban on Nitrogen for our area. These will be in effect until September 30th due to the rainy weather that we will have over the next few months in an effort to help reduce red tide.
Florida Rainy Season
These restrictions were put in place in 2008. This was to help reduce the runoff from nitrogen contributing to red tide and pollution in our waters.

However! Don't worry! This rainy season coincides with our growing season! Nitrogen encourages our grass and plants to grow. The increase in rain will naturally help this growing occur, so there is no reason for us to exacerbate the natural growing cycle of your grass and plants. But not to fear as we have been applying Nitrogen to your lawn up to this point to encourage healthy growing cycles.
What does this mean for your lawn?
This means that our signature fertilizer will no longer contain Nitrogen. But this is not an issue as our fertilizer contains 12 other essential nutrients for your plants and grass. Even with this ban in effect we will still be creating a great formula to keep your lawn lush and healthy.
We will be watching the weather in the coming weeks and will be in touch with you to let you know when you should reduce your watering.
What if I Get New Sod During the Ban?
During the ban, we are allowed a 60 day period to treat new sod and plants as necessary. Complete fertilizers with nitrogen are essential to the healthy development of these new plants and encourage a strong healthy root system.
