Dear Friends,
The season of Lent is winding rapidly to a close; we will soon find ourselves in Holy Week, our first Holy Week together in this place, and our first in person since the pandemic began just over two years ago. I hope you will mark your calendars, invite your friends and neighbors, and plan to worship with us throughout the week as we move together toward resurrection. The full schedule is listed below.
Grace and peace,
Ellen

Parents of Young Children
|
Children of all ages are invited to participate in worship on Palm Sunday, April 10. Children and parents will meet on the chancel steps at 10:45 am to hear the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and receive a palm branch. Waving palm branches, children and their families will follow Ellen and Julie into the sanctuary during the first hymn. Those seated in the pews will be invited to join the procession. After the procession, parents may exit the side door to take the youngest children to the nursery. Children Kindergarten and older will remain in worship. This is an opportunity for children and adults alike to participate in the biblical story as we begin Holy Week.

Last Sunday, The Middle and High School Sunday School class covered the “Death and Resurrection” segment of The Lion,The Witch, and The Wardrobe and studied several lines of scripture that could be applied to the novel / movie. We invite all 6th-12th grade students to join us this week for the conclusion of our study: Lent in Narnia. While no preparation is necessary to attend, we will be picking up at chapter sixteen in the book or the start of scene 21 in the Disney version of the movie.

We had an awesome Girls in God meeting Sunday! We made cards for elderly shut-ins and had a fascinating discussion about Esther. So excited for next week’s meeting and new service projects. We’ve got some fun things planned! See you in the coffee room, W305, at 3 PM Sunday afternoon!
Thanks,
Reven Harris Fulghum
