Note from Ellen
Dear Friends,
I have missed you! I am looking forward to hearing all about your summer and maybe getting a few hugs along the way. My sabbatical was wonderful, AND it is so good to be back.
I know you have had a rich time in worship with Casey and others this summer with the Apostle Paul and his letter to the Corinthians. This Sunday, we will spend a moment with Paul in Acts as he meets a woman named Lydia beside the river in Philippi (Acts 16:6-15). Paul did not initially plan to travel to Philippi, but plans have a way of changing along the way. And when those plans change, Paul finds faith and faithfulness in places he had not anticipated.
I hope to see you on Sunday when we will welcome new members and wonder together about the unexpected and winding roads we are often called to travel in the name of Jesus Christ.
Grace and peace,
Ellen
*The church received a note from the City of Concord that they will begin repaving Union St N beginning today, August 20. Just be aware that sections may be torn up and traffic impacted during this repaving process.*

Thank you so much!
A huge thank you to everyone who donated backpacks and supplies for WM Irvin Elementary! Because of your generosity, we were able to deliver 55 backpacks along with two big crates of extra supplies collected by the Girl Scouts.
We also placed a “care box” in the teachers’ workroom. It is fully stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, and personal items to give teachers a little encouragement throughout their busy days. The staff at Irvin were so touched and kept saying how much they feel cared for by our church family.
Our Reading Buddies program will be starting up again soon—if you’d like to join in and spend time reading with students at Irvin, please reach out to Julianna Willis at Julianna.Willis@gmail.com.
