2018 Habitat for Humanity Campaign
Dear Church Family,
On behalf of the Board of Deacons, we invite you to be a part of our 2018 Habitat for Humanity campaign . Our church goal is to raise $10,000 between April 29th and May 13th to help fund the construction of Zula’s home. We are excited to be a part of the Thrivent matching program that will double your donation!
Please consider supporting this campaign. If each family contributes at least $25 then the church will succeed at meeting the $10,000 goal. First Presbyterian has supported Habitat Cabarrus since it began over 25 years ago and is one of their most generous faith-based donors. Let’s continue to show our love and support of our community and be a part of changing Zula’s life.
To donate, simply click on this link to give online . You can also complete a handwritten form and submit it to the church office. Please make checks payable to First Presbyterian Church and write “Habitat” on the memo line.
Please also save the date for Saturday, June 16, 2018, when First Presbyterian will be one of the first groups to help build this home. We are tentatively scheduled to work on the siding for this new house. Anyone who can swing a hammer or use a paint brush is welcome to volunteer. No prior experience needed!
This is a perfect opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to join us in a day of service. If you wish to volunteer your time, please complete the form on the back of the flyer in this Sunday's bulletin and place it in the offering plate to be contacted with further details.
Thank you, The Board of Deacons

Market for Mission a Huge Success!
The wonder of it all! Our vision was to find a way to energize and bring together our congregation in a “hands on” way, to engage our community, and to raise funds and awareness for our mission efforts in Haiti. And we did it, in a big way! Our “65 Church Street Market for Mission” was a huge success on all fronts. We raised $7,779.66 for OFCB Ministries. Thanks be to God!
Lunch Bunch is in Full Bloom
For our final gathering before summer, we will take a field trip to Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens on Wednesday May 23 rd! We will have a special guided tour of the Gardens, as well as lunch and free time to soak in God’s created glory! Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes for walking. We will leave the Church parking lot at 9:30 a.m. and return sometime mid-afternoon. The cost is $45 per person which includes transportation, admission, a guided tour and lunch.  The deadline to sign up is Tuesday May 8 th. Questions? Contact Lynne Keel.
