Welcome New members!

Sonia Horack is originally from Wilson, NC. She has two sons and three grandchildren. Until recently, Sonia took antiquing trips to England, shipping furniture back for friends and interior design clients. She has volunteered all her life and has already volunteered with FPC’s Angel Tree. She takes great pleasure in being part of book clubs and has recently started one in her new neighborhood.

Pat Holloway was born in Ohio. She lived in Venice, Florida for years, working in the accounting office in a law firm, before moving “half back,” as her family likes to say, to Cornelius, NC. She met her husband, Jim while taking shag lessons. Jim and Pat have been married for 10 months. Pat has two adult children, two step-children, and ten grandchildren.

Confirmation and Youth

On Sunday, our confirmation class covered the beginning of the question: Who is your Lord and Savior?

Thank you to Brenda Todd for a delicious taco bar dinner for all our confirmands and youth!

We discussed and acted out the sacraments for baptism and communion in our youth group time.

We hope everyone will join us this week for Sunday School as we cover the beginning of Exodus, chapter 2.

Confirmation class will continue to discuss Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

We invite all Youth to wear team colors / jerseys from the NFL team that they wish was going to the superbowl.

Topics for the evening include Tackling Hunger and the Souper Bowl of Caring.

Please RSVP here: 2022-2023 Youth: 2/5 Youth (signupgenius.com)

Customers can walk up or use the circular drive and place orders from their vehicles. Thank you, in advance, for supporting the Girl Scouts in their adventures in business.

The cookies arrive in Charlotte on Saturday, so this cookie booth will be one of the first opportunities to reunite with your favorite cookies!

Todd Hobbie Sunday School Class Update

February 5: The Wisdom of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz for the Church Today (Part 2)

Is it possible that the story of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz bears the secrets of keeping faith in and with our post-secular context?

Christian Faith in a Reformed Key (3 sessions)

What does it mean to be God's faithful people in a post-secular society such as ours? As we seek to live into this question, we consider what guidance Reformed theology provides for worshiping, living, and governing.

February 12: Reforming Worship

The Protestant Reformation is sometimes said to boil down to a debate about the sacraments. We'll consider the different viewpoints and what they suggest for us today.

February 19: Reforming the Life of Faith

Drawing on John Calvin's Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life, we'll revisit the Reformation's startling consequences for the shape and content of the Christian life.

March 5: Reforming Society

We'll consider the different visions of society and politics that emerged in the Reformation and their relevance today.
