Easter Sunday, April 21st
Sunrise Service, Memorial Garden, 7:00 a.m.
Our Easter celebration begins in Memorial Garden with our Sunrise Service. A brass quintet, directed by our own Tyler Stark, will resonate the message of new birth and renewed faith alongside the beautiful landscape of Memorial Garden. Please bring a folding chair or blanket as none will be provided. After the service, you are invited to tour the garden and enjoy coffee in the Jones Yorke Room. In case of rain, the service will be held in the sanctuary.

Flowered Cross Service, Sanctuary, 10:00 a.m.
Our Easter celebration continues with our Flowered Cross Service for families and children with special music presented by the Children's Choir and the Youth Choir. Please consider attending this service to support these young ones as they fill our sanctuary with beautiful and joyful singing!! Remember to bring your flowers to place on the Flowered Cross. Children are reminded to bring their One Great Hour of Sharing fish boxes. There will no Sunday School classes or nurseries during this service.

Easter Worship Service, 11:00 a.m.
Our Easter celebration will culminate with our 11:00 a.m. worship with special antiphonal music presented by the Sanctuary Choir, orchestra, and organ. The traditional singing of "Hallelujah" by George Fredrick Handel by the Sanctuary Choir and congregation will close our Easter worship and commence our renewed birth and faith through Jesus' triumphant resurrection and defeat over death. Communion will be served in the pews with trays. A nursery for infants and children up to age 4 will be provided.
Wednesday Night Fellowship
Come for an evening of joy and appreciation as our Children’s Choir gives its final performance of this school year on Wednesday night, May 1st. As we conclude our Wednesday Night Fellowship programs, we want to express our deepest appreciation to Lynne and Rachel who have opened our eyes to needs in our community. We also want to offer our gratitude to Jacquie and Jeff who have brought our family of faith extraordinary music this year.. This evening of celebration will give us the opportunity to recognize our three choirs - children's, youth, and sanctuary and thank them for the joy they have brought us. Join us for our meal of fried chicken, potato salad, slaw, broccoli, baked beans, chips, cake and ice cream, prepared and arranged especially for this occasion by our Church Hostess, Jayne Maurer. Reservations due by Monday noon, April 29 . We ask that every family bring a few items relating to any of these Mission Projects - school supplies for WM IRVIN ELEMENTARY, the RED BOX FOOD PANTRY (across the street), BACKPACK PROGRAM supplies, or OPPORTUNITY HOUSE. Upon arrival, please create a centerpiece for your table using the items you bring for this evening of joy and celebration.
Suzanne Russell, New Church Administrator
Suzanne joins the First Presbyterian staff from Huntersville, NC, where she has lived with her husband John for twenty years. They share their home with their two dogs since their two boys have grown and moved to the Raleigh area. Before taking this position Suzanne worked for Ramah Presbyterian Church in Huntersville and Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte as well as several customer service and bookkeeping jobs while working to get her degree in business administration from Northeastern University. A love of cooking keeps her busy in the kitchen during any free time, followed by walks with the dogs to work off all she has eaten!
Suzanne will begin on Tuesday April 23rd and will train with Deborah Mesimer until she retires on Wednesday May 15th. Please be sure to stop by the office to welcome Suzanne!
Join us in Celebrating Deborah Mesimer!
Please come for a reception honoring Deborah Mesimer, Church Administrator at First Presbyterian Church, on Thursday, May 9th in the Fellowship House from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Look for an invitation coming soon!

Girl Scouts Cookies for a Cause Program
Girl Scout Troop 334 recently delivered cases of Girl Scout cookies to Concord Fire Department, Station 1 as part of the Cookies for a Cause program through the Girl Scouts Hornets Nest Council. When the program, formerly known as Cookies for the Troops, grew beyond what the military was able to distribute to our troops overseas, local heroes were also included in the program. This year, Troop 334 nominated the Concord Fire Department to receive a portion of the councils donated cookies and were honored to be selected to make the delivery.
Youth Sunday, April 7th
Many thanks to the youth for their leadership in worship on Youth Sunday. They shared their many gifts with the church, through their prayers and creativity, music and liturgy, and their refreshing expressions of worship. The church is inspired by their enthusiasm, wisdom, and hope for the church.
