Announcement from the Interim Pastor Search Committee
The Interim Pastor Search Committee is so pleased to announce that our new interim pastor is Scott Kenefake, who comes to us after completing a call as interim pastor at Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

Scott has been an ordained Presbyterian Church USA Pastor for more than 30 years. A Midwesterner, he attended the University of Kansas (B.A.), Washburn University School of Law (J.D.), San Francisco Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (D.Min). He has served congregations as an installed Pastor in: Rome, Georgia (Westminster), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (John Knox), Albany, New York (Hamilton Union), and Appleton, Wisconsin (Northkirk). He has also served as an Exchange Pastor in Ayr, Scotland (St. Columba). In recent years he has served as an Intentional Interim/Transitional Pastor in Topeka, Kansas (St. Andrews & Central Congregational), Manhattan, Kansas (First Congregational); Salina, Kansas (Interim Presbytery Executive, Northern Kansas); New York City (Fort Washington Collegiate), and Davidson, North Carolina (Davidson College Presbyterian Church). He enjoys tennis, jogging, dogs, reading, and travel. He and his wife, Gail, reside in Davidson. They have two adult children: Mary Elizabeth (London) and William (Boston).

We, as a committee, are so excited that Scott Kenefake has accepted the call to become our new Interim Pastor and we hope that you all will feel a renewed excitement in what is to come for our church. Please welcome him when he arrives on June 1. Thank you all for your prayers, patience, and support as we worked as a committee these past months.

The Commons is looking for a few good men….and women!
If you can spend an hour or two a couple of times a month as a presence in the room it would be so helpful. You might have an hour of peaceful quiet time to read, pray or think yourself. Or you might have an hour of welcoming folks into the space. Do it with someone: it doesn’t have to be just you….would be a perfect place to spend some time with your spouse or a friend.
Our new mission is evolving, and we are adapting with it. Call Carrie Myers at 704-467-0962 (NOT the number in the directory) to learn more and get a brief orientation.
