Dear Friends,
Sunday was such a great day! Ordination and installation of new officers, the successful completion of our Habitat campaign, the picnic, and the bouncy house, made for a wonderful day filled with worship, service, and community. Thank you to everyone who planned and participated.
As you read in last Friday’s email, our Selah service begins on June 5 at 5 PM. We will enjoy a yummy taco bar for dinner that night following worship. You do not need to sign up for worship; we do need you to sign up for the meal by May 30. Click here for the signup link.
Almost every day I read or hear about how people of all ages and backgrounds are longing for community, for authentic connections and a sense of a higher purpose. At her best, the church has been and still is about all these things and more. Your invitation to a neighbor or friend may just be the nudge they need to come and experience the loving, vibrant community of faith here at FPC.

Reminder - Happy Days Graduation Car Parade Today |
We invite all church members to join us by lining North Union Street for our First Kids Preschool graduation parade, to celebrate the many "Happy Days" we have been fortunate to share this past year.
Date: Wednesday, May 25th
Time: 5:30 PM
Our 41 graduates will travel from Forest Hills Church parking lot to First Presbyterian Church, where they will receive diplomas.
Our local police officers, a fire truck and even a small brass band will be there to help us celebrate. We hope that you can join the fun!

The churchwide picnic was a great success Sunday, and the Middle and High Sunday School Class was a big part of making it successful! Thanks to all the young people who helped set up, and then put back. We appreciated your help more than you know.

We are looking for artificial Christmas trees, “fur” coats, mannequins, clothing items that are reminscent of the 1940’s or Renaissance/ medieval times, tiaras and crowns, a photography backdrop stand, “wardrobe” – either from large cardboard box OR constructed from wood, sleigh, canopy tents.
If you are interested in helping to paint sets, we could also use your help! Please contact René Prager at r.prager@firstpresconcord.org to donate or help!

The Girls in God group is collecting dog and cat food and old towels for the Humane Society on Sunday, June 5th.

Over the summer you are invited to read Dear White Peacemakers by pastor and writer Osheta Moore. We will gather this fall to discuss. Osheta draws on the Sermon on the Mount, Spirituals, and personal stories to invite White Christians to come to the table and join in the hard work and holy calling of dismantling racism. (Please consider buying this book from a Black-owned bookstore, such as Shelves Books (shelvesbookstore.com) in Charlotte or Mahogany Books in Washington, DC.)
