If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and night wraps itself around me,”
even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is as bright as the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
~Psalm 139:12
Dear Friends,
This Sunday, June 12, we will begin a four-week worship series entitled “Telling Secrets.” Together we will explore what faith has to say about addiction, grief, depression, and anxiety. Too often we are ashamed of our struggles, and we think we should keep them to ourselves, especially in church.
For the next four Sundays, in the sermon and the whole of worship, we will be reminded of God’s faithfulness in the midst of our most difficult moments and the ways we as the body of Christ may be light and hope for one another. We will also be providing lists of agencies and other community mental health resources. If you have local resources to recommend, please pass them along.
On these Sundays and every day, may we be reminded of the God who holds us close and refuses to let the shadows have the final word.
Grace and peace,
Ellen
