What does the Book of Common Prayer say about Jesus' resurrection?

By his resurrection, Jesus overcame death and opened for us the way of eternal life. page 850

Curates Corner

Alleluia!! Christ is risen
The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia!!

Mahalo to all at the church and school that made this Easter Sunday a wonderful time. The music by our choir, the flowers, the children's choir, the food and the easter egg hunt made this a special time. These efforts made the day a true celebration of the joy that we have in our Lord Jesus Christ's resurrection.

Blessings,

Fr. Chris+

Opportunities to Volunteer At Outreach Projects Island Wide.

1.Prison Ministry: Leadership for this project is Fr. Kaleo Patterson and Pastor Haaheo Guanson. If anyone is interested in serving in this ministry, there is a backpack program, a prayer and bible study program ( which requires special training,) and a movement to bring Hawaii prisoners back home from Arizona. To contact the leaders for all of these programs, e-mail them at  kaleop@me.com

2. Justice reform program: Leadership for this project is Bob Merce.   mercer001@hawaii.rr.com      He needs a few legal experts to help him in his task of rewriting prison reform and bail, judging and sentencing guidelines.

3. Low income housing, affordable housing and homelessness: The good news is that the Legislative approved $200m for various housing projects, mainly around the rail stations. Supporting "Faith in Action" at  https://www.faithactionhawaii.org   would be very much appreciated.  Help is needed with preparation of food parcels, and the Tuesday luncheon at the Wally House project at St. Elizabeth's church.

3RD ANNUAL FAITH SUMMIT ON HOMELESSNESS, MAY 4TH. 2019. AT ALOHA TOWER.   INFO@IHSHAWAII.ORG .

Questions on any of these opportunities, please contact Wyn Aubrey-Child, Outreach Co-Ordinator.

HAPPY BOY'S DAY

Please come and enjoy the celebration of Boy's Day on May 5, 2019 at Holy Nativity Church.  We Celebrated Girls Day on March 3, 2019 and now it is the boys turn.  We will have a party on the lanai after the 9:30AM service.  Contact Mrs Chandi for more information.

WE WELCOME CHRIS SUZUKI!

The Church of the Holy Nativity has selected Chris Suzuki as our new Choir Director. Chris' first Sunday with us will be Easter Sunday. Chris studied at the University of Hawai'I at Manoa and has completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music with a minor in Business Administration. Chris has sang professionally with the Lutheran Church of Honolulu and St. Andrew's Cathedral.
Our Vestry has approved the appointment and is joined by many, many others of us in welcoming our choir back to its calling. Music is an important part of our worship tradition, supplementing spoken words and symbolic actions. Music stirs us and provides another dimension to our expression of our love of God.
Because we spent many months searching for our new choir director before having success, we invite you to acknowledge our good fortune by making a "budget-relieving" gift to support our music program. You may write a check to the Church of the Holy Nativity and note Music on the memo line. Mahalo.
