HNS & HNC WELCOME OUR NEW PROPERTY MANAGER,
Holy Nativity School and Church welcome, with great enthusiasm, our new Property Manager, Mr. Skye LeGros, who will begin his full-time work on May 3. Skye grew up in our community. He and his wife, Agatha, have returned to the area to raise their three children, two of whom currently attend HNS. Having worked for many years in the restaurant and hotel business, Skye has a strong background in property and events management. It's great to have a person with strong ties to our larger community join our HNS-HNC Ohana.
Among Skye's responsibilities will be coordinating the joint church-school property committee that makes recommendations to the vestry for significant improvements on campus. He also will manage the community gym rentals and oversee much of the contract work that we need to maintain our four acres and its buildings. Welcome, Skye; we are thrilled that you are here!
THE ORDER OF THE
DAUGHTERS OF THE KING
The Order of the Daughters of the King is a lay order of Episcopal women and those women whose churches are in communion with the Episcopal Church. The members undertake a rule of life, which includes prayer, service and evangelism.
Holy Nativity’s chapter Na Kaikamahine ‘o Lili’u’okalani was established on November 30, 2014. The Chapter normally meets monthly in Montero Chapel after the Sunday service though these meetings have been suspended during this year of COVID. Our members include Sandra Braham, Lila Johnson, Tusi Mayer and Delia Moore. Beverly Toomey has recently completed her period of discernment and will be received into the order sometime this summer. Our chapter also participates with other chapters in the Annual Meeting in the fall and the Spring Assembly. In addition we usually enjoy a Quiet Day every year. During this year of COVID diocesan meetings have taken place via Zoom.
Those individuals who are interested in joining the Daughters of the King should speak to Delia Moore or Lila Johnson. Before being received into the Order a person needs to participate in a twelve-week period of discernment. While long the discernment process is a rewarding spiritual exercise. --Delia Moore
