WELCOME EASERTIDE!

Alleluia, Christ is Risen!

We celebrated Easter Sunday with joy and thanksgiving. Rev. Jenn celebrated, Rev. Libby preached, and the children helped us bring back our Alleluias! Special mahalo to the Altar Guild, Ushers, Sunday School Teachers, and Tech Team for their help during Holy Week and on

Easter Sunday.

Another big thank you to the Choir who sang beautifully, directed by Chris and accompanied by Marlene on piano and Wyatt on trumpet.

The Lord is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!

The Norper kids did a great job with Acolyte service!

And of course there were treats and an Easter Egg hunt!

Maundy Thursday & Good Friday

Our East Oʻahu ecumenical group gathered for worship together on Maundy Thursday and

Good Friday.

On Thursday we remembered Jesusʻ last evening with his disciples with foot washing and communion at Holy Nativity Church, with a reflection by Pastor Malcom Carr from the UCC in Hawaiʻi Kai.

On Friday, we reflected on Jesusʻ last seven words at Kilohana Methodist Church, with preaching from seven different ministers who came from five different denominations (Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran, UCC, and Unitarian Universalist).

The services reflect a commitment from our six churches to love Godʻs people in our community all together in unity.

Above is a photo of all the ministers gathered around the altar table celebrating the Eucharist together at HNC on Maundy Thursday.

75th Anniversary Musings

As part of our 75th celebration, we reached out to families and individuals who have long-past ties to Holy Nativity. Many letters were sent far and wide, and we could not have been more pleased with the response.

In the coming weeks, in this section, we will share some of the comments we received, along with their generous donation.

My Mom[...] and aunt [...] are both inurned in your columbarium. I was baptized at Holy Nativity years ago.

~~~~~~~
My family and I were some of the first congregants -- I remember starting in the dairy!
~~~~~~~

Thank you so much for maintaining the columbarium, my mother rests there.

HNC Hosts Lua Workshop!

Holy Nativity hosted a student group from the University of Hawaiʻi last week that organized a Lua Workshop for students and

community members.

The workshop was in celebration of Womenʻs Month Queen Emma Celebration and taught by Kumu Ramsay Taum, an ʻōlohe of Lua Halāu ʻo Kaihewalu.

Lua is a Hawaiian cultural practice of combat/battle art. Kumu Ramsay taught elements of lua and the principles of living hoʻoponopono.

Here our own Olesya Noerper receives instruction from Kumu Ramsay.

Ever think, "I'd like to contribute to the service, but I'm not really interested in public speaking?"

Well, consider then the special service of the usher!

This position is open to BOTH men and women, and is a very important part of the smooth operation of the Sunday service.

If interested, please contact the Reverends, we would be so happy to have you!
