Mardi Gras Pancake Brunch & Pot Luck
This past Sunday, we got our Mardi Gras on in proper style with a sumptuous Pancake Brunch/ Pot Luck complete with beads and fun fellowship!
Shout out to Olga Noerper and ALL the helpers who made this so much fun!
After the Family Day service, Dr. Cat and his Holy Nativity Singers took a moment for the camera!

Our Pot luck this past Sunday was a huge success!
For upcoming Coffee Hour (after service), we are encouraging parishioners to continue to bring a dish or snack item to share. Our pot lucks are such a success, and enjoyed by everyone -- why not make it a regular thing?
The job is too much for just a few individuals/families, but if everyone pitches in
(a little), then we all enjoy the bounty!

Prayer Bead Ministry
Five years ago, our own Kim Garner took a class with Rev. Deborah, which involved the craft activity of making Prayer Beads – Kim was hooked! To this day she continues to enjoy the creative process of her Prayer Beads craft.
Kim’s strands are natural, glass or ceramic, no plastic beads are used. Each strand is unique, and there is no “mass production.”
To be clear, Prayer Beads are not Rosary – but they can be used in much the same way. A larger bead can be used for invocation (asking for a prayer to be heard) the smaller beads are for more specific prayers. Larger beads are also for asking forgiveness – and the last bead is for giving thanks.
Praying your beads can also be used meditatively with gentle breath control – very calming! The goal is for the user to derive meaningful value from the experience.

Our relationships are strained, loving our neighbor feels impossible and we’ve lost a sense of empathy for each other. You’re invited to join us in-person or online for this special free forum, exploring how to repair the breaches in our civic life.
The Wheatley Institute at Brigham Young University and Wesley Theological Seminary, and sponsored by Deseret Magazine.

Our Holy Nativity community is invited to go together to see the "Forward Together" exhibition:

This exhibition celebrates the museum’s important acquisition of prints from the Jean and Robert Steele Collection, which vastly increases HoMA’s representation of art by women and artists of color.
We will get a tour from Rev. Bob and Jean Steele -- please arrive by 2pm, gallery 13.
NOTE: Free parking can be found across the street, behind the art school, or street parking.

Lent Madness!
This online activity began in 2010 and is a unique Lenten devotion which is not unlike a sports tournament with elimination brackets.
Right after Ash Wednesday, 32 saints are proposed to vie for the Golden Halo. Biographical information is provided first, and we are invited to continually select one saint from a pair in single elimination brackets over several rounds.

"Fun" Lenten Facts
In response to low hamburger sales on Fridays and Lent season -- In 1965, the Filet-O-Fish was the first addition to McDonald’s original menu; it was the only non-hamburger option and sold for $0.29.
Last year, 25 percent of all Filet-O-Fish sandwiches were sold during the Lenten Season. And in 2022, more Filet-o-Fish sandwiches were sold (per capita) in Hawai'i than any where else in the USA!
Hot Tip: Order the Filet-o-Fish sandwich with lettuce, tomato & onion -- so much better!
