The Diocesan Task Force for Creation Care and Environmental Justice has joined hands with
Hawai`i Interfaith Power and Lightto launch a national letter writing campaign, asking all faith communities and individuals of faith to write letters to President Joe Biden and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to ask them to hasten the de-fueling and dismantling of the Red Hill Bulk Fuel Storage Facility.
On Sunday, February 19, there will be an opportunity at church to sign letters individually after coffee hour on the lanai. If you are not able to be at church on Sunday the 19th, you can visit the HIPL Take Actionpage to find out more and download a sample letter.
If you feel called to, please share this with friends and family on social media or by other means. We are looking for a groundswell of support to urge the President and Secretary of Defense to order the US Navy to move more quickly and transparently to close the facility and remove all the contaminating fuel and equipment.
Join us and make your voice heard!
