Thrift Shop Appreciation Day Lunch
March 28, 2019
At 11:30AM
On
The Holy Nativity Church Lanai

Our thrift shop has been an important ministry to Holy Nativity Church for many years. The idea of a thrift shop first surfaced in 1963, growing out of a series of rummage sales which had been held by the women of Holy Nativity Church. From its humble start the thrift shop has grown into what it is today. The thrift shop raises funds for charities. It also is fulfilling another ministry to the parish and community, as a place for friends to come together and share in an environment of work that contributes to the betterment of people in need on Oahu. The thrift shop is a place of giving and receiving in so many different ways. Please come and join the Holy Nativity Thrift Shop Volunteers and the good folks of Holy Nativity Church as we celebrate and show appreciation for this important ministry. RSVP with me at hnccurate@gmail.com or call the church office at 808-373-2131

Blessings,

Fr. Christopher

WELCOME PEGGY BUDLONG!

We are delighted to announce that Peggy Budlong has accepted the position of Thrift Store Manager. Peggy comes to Holy Nativity with a tremendous amount of experience and genuine excitement about joining us. Peggy owned and operated her own gift store with new and used items on Kapahulu for over 20 years called Peggy's Picks. We are pleased that she will be joining the Holy Nativity Thrift Store and working with our volunteers and staff.

A big mahalo and thank you to Bill Seeley!

Bill Seeley is one of those faithful and dedicated parishioners who works tirelessly for the church in an unseen capacity. Do you know who helped fix the locks, helps count the offering replaced the water heater, is planning to fix the leak in the faucet in the rector's office over Spring Break? Yes, it is Bill Seeley.

Bill has organized the Kapuna Watch - parishioners and others who sit at the rector's office gate to greet students and parent every morning just to provide a friendly and safe entrance for the school children. (A program which has met with overwhelming approval and appreciation by our school parents.)

The Happy Kitchen Team reports that there would not have been a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper or Lentils for Lent Luncheon without him. Only Bill knew where all of the extension cords were in order hook up the hotplates and slow cookers for each of these events.

The rest of the Episcopal church around the country may have been celebrating the Second Sunday of Lent; but here at Holy Nativity is was not only the Second Sunday of Lent...it was also Bill Seeley Day.
