Palm-Cross Making!

More than fifteen people attended the palm-cross making workshop on Saturday 3/23, on the lanai. Among those who attended were

(pictured L to R) Sharon Souza, Cindy Rosebrough, Beverly Toomey, Sandra Braham, Christine Donnelly, and Tusi Mayer.

Mahalo to all who helped make our Palm Sunday very special!

PALM SUNDAY

We gathered on the lanai to bless and share palms...

and then we processed into and around the nave, remembering Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. "Those who went ahead (of Him) and those who followed were shouting, 'Hosanna in the highest heaven!'" (Mark 11)

Members of the congregation read the story of the Passion...

...which reminded us that Jesus was not meant to be an earthly King, but a heavenly one. Before His triumph, Jesus would die on the cross. Our service ended in silence and darkness, as a solemn reminder of the road Jesus walked ahead of Easter.

Diocesan Education Day: Prayer Bead Workshop held on 3/23

As part of the diocesan Education Day last weekend at St. Andrew's Cathedral, our own Kim Garner (pictured here in blue) led two workshops teaching people how to make a set of Anglican prayer beads. She also spoke about the different ways people can pray with the beads. More than 25 people attended the workshops.

Mahalo, Kim, for sharing your ministry with others across our diocese!

75th Anniversary Musings

As part of our 75th celebration, we reached out to families and individuals who have long-past ties to Holy Nativity. Many letters were sent far and wide, and we could not have been more pleased with the response.

In the coming weeks, in this section, we will share some of the comments we received, along with their generous donations.

Holy Nativity was my grandparent's church. We got to attend every time we visited in summer and Christmas. So Holy Nativity is special to me, and has a very positive connotations for me.
