Holy Week is almost here, and we will celebrate its start together on Palm Sunday.
During the final days before Easter we have an opportunity to slow down and reflect on our Lenten journey with Jesus to Jerusalem. We have traveled alongside Jesus in our scripture readings, from his retreat in the wilderness and the devilʻs temptations, to Samaria and the woman at the well, to the raising of Lazarus from the dead.
And now as Jesus makes his way to the city of Jerusalem, he will be welcomed with songs of praise to eat the Passover meal with his trusted twelve.
As you accompany Jesus to Jerusalem in our services this week, I invite you to imagine the shift in mood from the relative safety of the small towns where he has been ministering to Godʻs people, to the more dangerous city, where the religious and Roman authorities have little tolerance for what heʻs been saying and teaching. His disciples are nervous, and I imagine Jesus is anticipating what is to come, especially all that he will endure before the day of resurrection. Jesus leans into the uncertainty of Holy Week with faith that God will provide all that is needed for the path ahead.
I invite you to listen and look for Godʻs presence with you and know that God will provide all that is needed for you, too, as Jesus walks alongside you.

HNC 75th Landscaping Plans
For our 75th Anniversary we are refreshing our landscaping around the church and we invite you to be a part of it! Tom Witten, of PBR Hawaii and Associates, has created a master plan for us, and with the help and advice of Gayna Buranelli, we will have a detailed plan for different areas of the campus.
There are many ways you can be involved: volunteer for one of our “Green Team Work Days” as we remove overgrown plants, as we identify what plants we need consider donating starts from your own garden, and of course you can always donate funds for the heavier work that will be needed, like grading and laying pavers.
Stay tuned for more details!
