A huge mahalo to all who volunteered with our huki with Mālama Maunalua on October 10th!
Together we cleared almost 900 pounds of invasive algae from Maunalua Bay (thatʻs a lot of algae)!
We had over 40 people working in the water and providing refreshments and shelter from the sun.
If you were unable to come and are interested in participating in the future, please talk with Rev. Jenn and we will plan another huki.

Seeing Godʻs Abundance Everywhere - Stewardship at
Holy Nativity
Our Stewardship season starts this Sunday and will run October 16 through November 20.
Our theme for this year is “You Feed Them - the Abundance of God is More Than Enough” inspired by Luke 9:10-17.
Last April when setting up our huki with Mālama Maunalua, I told the volunteer organizer I thought we might have about 20 people volunteer for October 10th. Being new to gathering folks for a volunteer workday, which fell on a holiday and at the end of Holy Nativity Schoolʻs fall break, I had no idea how many would come! Well, Godʻs abundance was clear on Monday, when over 40 adults and children came to help with algae removal and refreshments.
Our abundant hands worked as a team to pull out several kinds of invasive algae and to preserve the bright green native plants that are returning to Maunalua Bay.
Our work helping to restore ecological balance to the bay is a good metaphor for our work as a Christian community. God calls us to work together to restore Godʻs abundant love to a world invaded by oppression, division, and injustice.
We leave our Sunday worship praying for God to “send us out in peace” and “send us out to do the work you have given us to do.” We are Godʻs hands restoring peace and justice to Godʻs people and Godʻs creation. We are called to share Godʻs love with those who donʻt always feel loved by God or anyone else.
This Sunday we will talk more about our Stewardship theme and share some ideas about how we may approach this time together.
Please pray for our Holy Nativity community as we look for Godʻs abundance around us and plan for the future.
Rev. Jenn
