During our Stewardship Season at Holy Nativity, from October 16 - November 20, we will collect donations of non-perishable food and toiletries for two different causes.
First, the non-perishable food will be collected to be given to the Food Vault at UH Mānoa to help food insecure students.
Second, we will use some of the donated food and toiletries to create a “God Loves Me” gift bag*.
*Included in the bag will be a gift card to Subway and other donated items.
We will assemble the bags after service on Sunday,November 20th in gratitude for Godʻs abundance.
The bags will be available for church members to take with them to keep in their cars or elsewhere so that when they encounter a person in need, they can give a bag to them and offer a prayer.
Toiletries (individually wrapped toilet paper, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, toothbrush, dental floss, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, deodorant, razors, hygiene pads, tampons)

Mahalo Lunch given by the Samaritan Counseling Center
(Oct. 8th)
Our Holy Nativity vestry regularly sends SCC a donation to assist with their "client assistance fund."
SSC has a policy never to refuse a potential client for lack of funds; we are very happy to be able to support their work.
The Rev. Bob Steele (pictured here) is a member of the SCC Board. The Rev. George Clifford, who served at Holy Nativity four years ago, is a former president of the Board. For more information about SSC, go to:

White Sunday (Oct. 9th) was beautiful!
Thank you to Ms. Tusi Mayer for putting together the program celebrating this important Samoan holiday and to Ms. Chandi Hinrichs for helping with rehearsals and the making of Lei Po'o for our keiki!

Blessing of the Animals: Remembering St. Francis of Assisi
HN church and school had their annual blessing of the animals on Oct. 13th.
Along with the dogs pictured here, there were cats, turtles, a chameleon, and a rabbit, to name a few. A delightful menagerie!
