We are posting a brief day by day meditation from Forward Movement. It's a great way to start your morning! Just click on the website icon above.
On August 14th, good public health reports finally allowed us to invite our keiki to join us at the altar for the Eucharistic Prayer. This was the first time; going forward, we hope to invite them to join us at each of our family services on the "second Sundays" of the month.
Jesus loved children; he reminded us to "let the children lead" as they have special wisdom and much to teach us. We hope to honor Jesus's call in this and many other ways as we move into the future!
Consecrated wine to be available
Given current public health statistics, Rev. Jenn and I feel comfortable returning to the practice of offering consecrated wine in addition to bread at communion time during our services. Beginning this coming Sunday, September 4, the Eucharistic Minister will be present outside the chancel rail. After communicants have received the bread, all will have the option to drink from the chalice. (We will continue to refrain from dipping the bread, called "intinction," for now.)
Anyone who wishes to decline the offer to drink from the common cup is welcome to continue our current practice of receiving the sacrament "in one kind only," which is considered a full communion in our church.
We are grateful to be able to return to practice that is cherished and has been missed by many!
A loving Aloha for
