Palm Sunday
Our Altar Guild came forward with many helping hands, as always, to make Palm Crosses.
The crosses were available to everyone who attended the Palm Sunday service at HNC. We also sent them to our partner church, St. Matthews in Waimanalo, and to the "No Dictators" rally in downtown Honolulu.

Maundy Thursday
At morning chapel services, Rev. Jenn shared the story of Jesus' washing his disciples' feet.
Jesus encouraging them to love others as he modeled loving and serving them. She and Rev. Libby washed some of the children's feet and they practiced washing one another's feet.

Good Friday
On Good Friday, parishioners from Holy Nativity joined our East Honolulu Ecumenical partners at a joint evening service at Kilohana Methodist Church in Niu Valley. A joint choir offered special music and clergy and other volunteers offered meditations on Jesus' seven last words from the cross.
"It is finished," Jesus said. "into your hands, I commend my spirit."

Easter Sunday
On Easter Sunday, a large and joyful crowd gathered for the celebration of Easter and the baptism of Avery Garwin. We lit the tall Paschal Candle, which burns through the Day of Pentecost.
The choir offered the stirring anthem, "Adoramus Te." Avery's and family and many of her Holy Nativity School friends came forward to witness and share the joy of her baptism and her new life in Christ.
Alleluia, Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen, indeed.
Alleluia!

Easter Cross
Every year for many years, we have been graced by the appearance of the flowered Easter Cross, quietly decorated a day ahead by a small and dedicated group
of volunteers.
Shown here is Tusi Mayer, our senior warden. (We are grateful for everything she does, in front of and behind the scenes!)

Easter Egg Hunt
An egg hunt finished off our Easter Day festivities. Mahalo to our team who provided this high-energy and joyful event!

Bishop's Easter Video Message 2026
Bishop Robert Fitzpatrick shares his final Easter message as Bishop Diocesan, with much hope in a broken world.
In it he shares an essay by Arthur Michael Ramsey, the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury (November 14, 1904-1988), and one of his favorite Easter hymns by Charles Wesley.

The 2026
Golden Halo Winner!
The announcement you have been waiting for!
Though the competition was steep with well-known saints and Christian leaders, the winner of the esteemed Golden Halo Award for the 2026 Lent Madness is not one individual but a group – Contance and her Companions, the Martyrs of Memphis.
Some 150 years ago, Memphis, Tennessee experienced a serious yellow fever epidemic. While thousands fled the city, a small group of nuns and priests remained to tend and care for the sick. They experienced unbearable heat, humidity and widespread disease. In service to others, they ultimately succumbed to the very epidemic they were fighting. Today they are rightfully remembered and honored for their ministry.
They are collectively known as Constance and her Companions, the Martyrs of Memphis: Sister Constance, Sister Thecla, Sister Ruth, Sister Frances, the Rev. Charles Carroll Parsons, and the Rev. Louis S. Schuyler.
Mahalo to Lila Johnson for bringing us Golden Halo/Lent Madness every year!
