Spring has Sprung
at Primrose Farm
As the days are getting warmer and the temperatures rise, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring at the Primrose Farm! Along with taking care of our furry friends, we have been planning for our favorite programs and events, old and new! There are so many new programs and activities to look forward to in 2020 at Primrose Farm to cure your spring fever.

Ruth, our curious heifer, out on pasture on a spring afternoon
If you have been with us for a while at the farm, you'll know that we will be kicking off the spring season with our annual event, Springtime on the Farm. Join us on April 4 as we welcome the warmer weather with our livestock. This event is the perfect opportunity for our regular visitors and newcomers alike to meet our animals and get a taste of what farming is all about. There are so many activities to take part in including crafts, farmyard demonstrations, gardening, animal meet and greets and so much more. Entry for the event is completely free, so make sure to mark your calendars!

If you're looking for some motivation to kick back into your fitness routine, consider signing up for our first Goat Yoga class of the season! Join us on April 18 as we spend a serene morning of meditation and mindful stretching with our Nigerian Dwarf Goats Merle and Norman! If you are still itching to keep that fitness kick going, sign up for our second year of our Farmyard Fitness Relay Day later that morning. Participants will travel our two mile hiking trail, and overcome the several obstacles that stand between you and the finish line! This year, the Farmyard Fitness Relay will really have you testing your limits of endurance, strength, and stamina. Be sure to sign up for both events for a full day of farmyard fitness fun!

For the hobbyist who is looking to spend more time in the outdoors this season, we will be hosting a brand new program called Sit and Stitch that is completely free. Join us Thursday evenings in April and May. Be sure to bring your current knitting, crochet, or embroidery project, as we spend a relaxing evening of crafting with a different animal each week. This program is a perfect opportunity to get to know fellow hobbyists in the area, as well as spend some quality time with our furry friends at the farm. If stitching is not up your alley, we will also be offering our Intro to Blacksmithing class again this year on April 25. Join us and our resident blacksmith Chris Gingrich as he teaches you the ins and outs of blacksmithing. In this unique program, learn from a professional as you create an iron masterpiece of your very own! Space is limited so sign up ASAP!

Whether you have been with us for years, or you are just now visiting the farm, we cannot thank our visitors enough for their generosity and kindness. Without all of you, Primrose Farm would not be the lively and family friendly destination it is today. We can't wait to celebrate the new season with you soon!
