COMMUNITY PLANTING

Join Us! A Butterfly Garden Planting & Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 4th at 9 am at Hull Park. Volunteers are needed to plant the 2,500 square feet garden that is laid out in the shape of a Monarch Butterfly.

The Butterfly Garden will serve as a shoreline buffer garden to collect and absorb rainwater runoff from grass above and provide habitat for beneficial pollinators. Nutrients and pollutants will be filtered by soils and roots so they do not reach Boardman Lake or groundwater.

We want to extend our gratitude to Nelson Asper who generously donated the garden in honor of his late wife Cindy.
